Rosé of BLACKPINK has received the Presidential Citation at the 16th Korea Popular Culture and Arts Awards, held on October 23 at the National Theater of Korea. The prestigious government award recognizes artists who have made outstanding contributions to the growth of Korean pop culture.
Rosé was honored for her exceptional influence on the global music scene. Her duet single “APT.” with Bruno Mars, released in October last year, topped international charts — including 12 consecutive weeks at No.1 on Billboard’s Global 200 and No.2 on the UK Official Singles Chart Top 100.
She also made K-pop history by becoming the first Korean artist to win “Song of the Year” at the 2025 MTV Video Music Awards, one of America’s four major music awards.
Rosé’s first full-length album “rosie”, released in December last year, debuted at No.3 on the Billboard 200 and remained on the chart for 27 consecutive weeks, setting both the highest and longest-running record for a female K-pop artist. Notably, she participated in writing and composing all tracks, proving her artistry beyond performance.
Through this award, Rosé joins the ranks of artists who have not only elevated K-pop’s global standing but also strengthened Korea’s cultural presence worldwide.
She is currently continuing BLACKPINK’s world tour, with a major performance taking place today at Rajamangala National Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.
